Q. Is it okay to charge the battery once in a while and add distilled water?
A. Regular maintenance is necessary to ensure long and safe forklift operation. Forklift truck batteries are consumable items. In addition, replacement costs can be very high. Neglecting day-to-day care and maintenance of the battery will result in higher costs and reduce the service life of the forklift.
Q. I only use it once in a while, so I don't need to maintain it that much, right?
A. Without proper maintenance, batteries and parts will deteriorate even without use. We recommend regular maintenance to ensure long and safe use of your forklift.
Q. It makes strange noises now and then, but it is still usable and should be okay, right?
A. If you notice anything wrong with your forklift, please stop using it immediately and contact your contractor or NICHIYU Syaryou. A strange noise from a forklift is a signal that could lead to a serious accident. In order to extend the life of your forklift and keep it in use as long as possible, it is important to perform proper maintenance on a daily basis.

Q. I don't have to take a specific voluntary inspection (annual inspection), right?
A. Penalties will apply.
An inspection mark certifying the year and month of the voluntary inspection must be affixed to the forklift in a conspicuous place. Only a qualified person or inspection company can perform the specified voluntary inspection. Use of forklifts that have not been inspected violates the Industrial Safety and Health Act and is punishable by a fine of up to 500,000 yen.
Q. If we perform a specific voluntary inspection (annual inspection) once a year, we don't have to perform a periodic voluntary inspection (monthly inspection) every month, right?
A. Penalties will apply.
Failure to conduct monthly voluntary inspections violates the Industrial Safety and Health Act and is punishable by a fine of up to 500,000 yen.
In addition, monthly forklift inspections extend the service life and reduce costs.
Q. It costs money, and if it breaks down, why don't I just have it looked at?
A. Penalties will apply.
Failure to repair any abnormality is also a violation of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and is subject to penalties such as a fine of up to 500,000 yen. Daily inspections may reveal the weak points of each vehicle (operator).
In addition, by creating a record for each vehicle, forklift breakdowns and problems can be prevented, leading to total cost reductions.

Q. When a failure occurs, it will take a few days for a maintenance person to come, right?
A. NICHIYU Syaryou has many maintenance service personnel on staff. Customers who have a contract with us can directly contact their service person in charge. If it is a business day, we will visit you on the same day or a support service person will visit you as soon as possible (within the sales area; excludes distant areas).
Q. I use several forklift manufacturers and don't know who to call?
A. Please feel free to contact us for forklifts from NICHIYU, Mitsubishi, TCM, Nissan, as well as other companies. We will propose the best maintenance method.
Q. Is it okay to ask NICHIYU Syaryou suddenly for service?
A. First, please contact us by phone or email. Our service sales representative will call you to ask about your situation. We will see your situation again on-site based on the information we have received. We will then provide you with a proposal and estimate, and perform the actual maintenance. Please be assured that our proposals and estimates are free of charge.

If you have purchased a used vehicle and are worried about maintenance

Q. If it is a used car, it is not eligible for maintenance, right?
A. Please feel free to contact us even if you bought a used vehicle from another company (limited to domestic makers).
Q. I purchased an old forklift. There are no spare parts available, are there?
A. For NICHIYU and Mitsubishi brands, we have used parts for forklifts up to approximately 15 years old. Our partner companies may also have parts for other companies' products. We will do our best to help you find the parts for the forklift you require.
Q. I bought a used forklift from another company. Can you do an inspection before I use it?
A. If you sign with us a contract for a legal inspection (monthly or annual) with NICHIYU Syaryou, the initial inspection will be free of charge.
